First, let me say I’m sorry. I should have posted yesterday’s blog before you brought bed bugs home.

You came back from your trip and you brought everything right in the house and unpacked your clean clothes and put your dirty clothes in the hamper; you’ll get to them tomorrow…. Time to sleep. The problem is, you may have unintentionally brought bed bugs home with you.

Like I said yesterday, it’s time to look for the signs of bed bugs.

What To Do?
If you find proof of bed bugs and you live in a house, call a pest control company you trust. For people living in a multi-family dwelling, an independent living facility, or if you operate a hotel and you find a bed bug, tell management right away and they should call me to get a dog in there to determine if any of the adjoining units have bed bugs, so we can pinpoint treatment areas. If necessary, we provide heat and chemical treatments.

What Not To Do
Don’t let any company with or without a dog try to talk you into treatment if they could not positively identify and prove the existence of live bed bugs or viable eggs. We work on the ‘trust but verify’ rule. If the dog alerts, we have to confirm the existence of the bed bugs before he gets rewarded. We verify each and every alert. All dogs will false alert at some point and we will not recommend treatment without positive proof. We will gladly come back within 2 weeks to check again for you (for free).

Peace Of Mind
If you don’t find bed bugs, but you are getting bites, we can bring the dog in and verify that it is bed bugs biting or if it is something else chewing on you while you sleep. Hopefully, this can give you that much needed peace of mind you deserve.
